KEEP NORTH DAKOTA MOVING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION
SUPPORT REED'S CAMPAIGN
"Being conservative means being a good steward—of our tax dollars, our institutions, and our future."
-REED JOHNSON, Candidate for North Dakota House
PRIORITIES
Putting District 17 First
Reed believes state government should be focused, efficient, and accountable to the people it serves. His priorities are grounded in affordability, opportunity, and stewardship.

Property Tax Relief
Homeownership should be attainable—not a burden. Reed will fight to keep property taxes under control so families, seniors, and young homeowners can stay in the community they love.

Smarter, More Efficient Government
Taxpayer dollars should be treated with respect. Reed supports streamlining government, eliminating unnecessary boards and regulations, and focusing on what actually works.

A Strong Economy & Energy Industry
A healthy economy means good jobs and stable communities. Reed supports policies that strengthen small businesses, support North Dakota’s energy industry, and encourage long-term growth.

Supporting the University of North Dakota
UND is the heart of Grand Forks and a driver of regional success. Reed will be a strong advocate for UND students, faculty, and the economic impact the university brings to District 17.

Protecting & Enhancing our Traditions
North Dakota’s outdoors are a part of what makes our state and our way of life special. Reed will work to protect and enhance recreational opportunities for North Dakota sportsmen and all residents.
"North Dakotans expect their legislators to listen, work hard, and deliver results. That’s exactly what I intend to do. This isn’t about me. It’s about doing the work and earning the trust of the people I represent."

Proven in Service. Ready to Lead.

Reed is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and a U.S. Army veteran who served as a Cavalry Officer. He continues his commitment to service as Judge Advocate for the North Dakota American Legion and as a strong advocate for veterans and their families.
After leaving active duty, Reed built experience in both the private sector and state government, bringing together real-world problem solving and a solutions-driven mindset. During the most recent legislative session, he worked in Governor Kelly Armstrong’s Office, where he analyzed legislation, testified before committees, and helped advance major conservative achievements—including historic property tax relief, cell phone-free classrooms, and cutting waste by eliminating unnecessary boards and commissions.
Today, Reed is completing his law degree at the University of North Dakota while continuing his commitment to public service. He believes North Dakota needs principled stewards who will preserve what makes our state special while ensuring opportunity for those who are ready to work hard and give back.
"I want my kids to grow up in a North Dakota that’s affordable, safe, and full of opportunity. That means leaders who take the job seriously and put people before politics.”
Rooted in North Dakota. Strong in Family & Community.
Reed Johnson is a proud Grand Forks resident and North Dakota native running for the North Dakota House of Representatives in District 17.
Raised in Dickinson, Reed developed a deep appreciation for North Dakota’s history, traditions, and strong sense of community. As an active member of the Boy Scouts growing up, he learned early the value of service, responsibility, and leadership—lessons that continue to guide him today.
Reed and his wife, Ashley, live in Grand Forks. He’s a proud stepfather to Ashley’s son, Brayden, and they are expecting a baby girl this spring. Reed is running because being part of the solution matters—especially for his children and the generations of North Dakotans who will follow.
